Kerala State e-Governance Awards - 2008

Just one click – and there opened a new window for many who were tired of hanging around the government offices for hours.  The government services suddenly lost that much dreaded `look of red-tapism' and it all seemed just a click away.  As you might have guessed already, we are talking about the introduction of IT-enabled services in the governance procedure, which made the whole administrative process more efficient and transparent. Though the pace of transformation to the e-governance mode was slow, it was firm and bold, thanks to the initiatives taken by some officials and staff who worked sincerely for the successful implementation of various IT-enabled projects.

These government servants worked on their own without any specific incentive.  So, in order to recognize and appreciate their work and to encourage them to continue with their good efforts, the Government of Kerala has decided to introduce e-Governance awards for both the projects and for individuals in the following categories:

  • Online services and e-filing

  • Best website

  • e-payment service

  • Digital file flow system

  • m-governance

  • SPARK implementation

  • Local language content development

  • Maximum utilization of Akshaya centres

The nomination forms for e-governance projects and for the individuals must be submitted separately. The last date for submitting  the application form is  January 15, 2009. The brochures and the application forms can be downloaded from the website www.itmission.kerala.gov.in or www.imgkerala.org.
